Ordination held at STP - STP News - Santa Teresita Parish

The ordination to the Diaconate of the two Montfort Missionaries was held in Sta. Teresita Parish on September 7, 2014, the eve of the feast of Mary’s nativity at six o’clock in the evening.  Reverend Benjie Notarte, SMM hailed from Bohol while Reverend Arnel Pagaduan, SMM came from this parish who served as sacristan and youth minister.  They both studied theology in Kenya where they have joined the International SMM Scholasticate.  It took them another year of pastoral experience and preparation before they were finally recommended for ordination.  The solemn celebration was presided by Most Reverend Broderick Pabillo, DD. Auxiliary Bishop of Manila.  In his homily he emphasized the role of the deacon to pray for the Church, proclaim and preach the Word of God and to take care of the poor.  The second part of the celebration was the reception held at the grounds of West Rembo Elementary School.  A short program was presented by the youth of the parish to entertain the visitors while taking their dinner.  It was attended by the family and friends of the two deacons and of course by the parishioners who hosted the whole celebration. Towards the end of the reception, Fr. Arnel Paul Lucero, the Superior of the Montfort Missionaries in the Philippines announced their assignments: Rev. Benjie will continue working as Vocation Director while assisting in Sta. Teresita Parish while Rev. Arnel will be in Bulacan together with Fr. Melvin Ordaňez.
