“My mission – to make God loved – will begin after my death,” St. Therese said. “I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses.”
Roses are Therese's signature. It is her way of whispering to those who need a sign that she has heard, and God is responding. Thousands of people have given witness to the way Therese responds to their petitions and prayers with grace and roses. The celebration of the Feast Day of St. Therese will not be complete without the roses. However, distribution of roses was done only after the last mass of the feast day since there are no enough roses for everyone. Fr. Richard Magararu, SMM, the parish priest presided the usual community mass. Fr. Benjie Notarte, SMM concelebrated and Rev. Arnel Pagaduan, SMM assisted as deacon. Animators danced during the singing of the Gloria with showers of rose petals coming from the choir loft. Towards the end of the mass roses were blessed and distributed to the church goers after the dismissal. These flowers are very significant to the parishioners because they believe that it is a sign that their petitions or prayers were granted by our Patroness. A simple token but a reminder of a young saint who said, “An ordinary can become extraordinary and what matters is not great deed but great love.”
