STP Fiesta Highlighted “Year of the Laity” - STP News - Santa Teresita Parish

After the 8:15 AM Fiesta Mass, the bishop was ushered by Fr. Richard to the covered court for the opening of the gallery exhibits in celebration of the Year of the Laity. Bishop Teodoro Bacani, DD, Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches and Fr. Richard, the parish priest cut the ribbon and entered the hall to take a look at the different booths prepared by the different religious organizations, ministries and movements in the parish. Each group showcased its objectives, works and activities printed in tarpaulin. Others presented photos, accessories and various objects related to their roles.  The bishop was impressed by the creative presentations and how the parish recognized their efforts.

Selected members of the different organizations rendered song and dance numbers to keep the spirits up and to entertain those who came to witness the occasion.  It was then followed by the awarding of the certificate of recognition to all organizations for their valuable contribution in the mission of new evangelization of the parish.  Fr. Richard was assisted in the distribution by Sis. Linda Igna and Bro. Edwin Aguila who represented the Parish Pastoral Council.

The packed lunch was finally distributed and while everyone took their meal the Marriage Encounter group rendered “Harana” songs (Serenade).  After taking “selfies” and endless photographs, each group dismantled their exhibits and helped together to clear the area. The scene was truly filled with “bayanihan” spirit.  Everybody went home tired but in their face one can see joy and fulfilment brought about by the festivity.
