67 Teenagers Received the Sacrament of Confirmation - STP News - Santa Teresita Parish

The Sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated in the parish last November 27, 2014.  There were sixty seven (67) candidates, thirty five (35) boys and thirty two (32) girls.  The celebration was officiated by Most Reverend Bernardino Cortez, DD, outgoing Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Manila and Bishop Elect of the Prelature of Infanta, Quezon.   Fr. Richard Magararu, SMM and Fr. Angelo Pusikit, SMM concelebrated with him.  The celebration started at 9:00 o’clock in the morning with the entrance procession of the candidates accompanied by their Godparents.  They were followed by selected candidates carrying placards of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Each one is flanked by another candidate who carries a lighted candle.  The placards and the candles were placed near the sanctuary to remind everyone of the gifts that is being given through the Sacrament of Confirmation.  The Bishop explained these gifts in his homily.

The catechists of the parish were the ones who organized this meaningful event.  The preparation took almost four weekends mainly to catechize the candidates, parents and godparents.  They also prepared the candidates for the Sacrament of Confession and lastly they organized a rehearsal together with the godparents.  The catechists once more showed that they are indispensable mission partners in the parish.
